The Archdiocese Crisis Coordination Team is looking for volunteers for a home-building mission to Yogyakarta from the 9 to 15 of November 2008.
Catholics aged 18 to 60, in good health are strongly encouraged to take this opportunity to live their faith in a home building mission for those that lost their homes in the 2006 Yogyakarta Earthquake in Central Java, Indonesia.
Catholic volunteers will work with families to rebuild earthquake-resistant houses as many still do not have homes to call their own and ACCT has chosen to work with Habitat for Humanity to send 20 Singaporeans in their home building effort for this community.
No prior experience is necessary. All we ask is that you bring enthusiasm and a smile with you. Families are welcomed (Those below 21 are required to get parental consent). ACCT will be subsidizing all volunteers but each volunteer will need to contribute S$850 to help cover the cost of air and land transfers, build materials as well as food and accommodation during the 7-day mission.
